I recently had to make room on my website by changing a gallery so I lost a lot of my non fashion based documentary work, so here are some of my actual favourite images taken over the past few years which lost their place on my website and portfolio. Enjoy.

I've added a new blog to my website which to be honest will likely be updated more than this.

Someone just sent me an email, telling me that there was a film made in the late 1960's about a Fashion Photographer called Ben Morris called 'The Pink Jungle'. Turns out it's true, and what a synopsis!

Synopsis: James Garner stars as irritable fashion photographer Ben Morris in Delbert Mann's amusing adventure comedy. While working on assignment in the jungles of South America, shooting an ad campaign with model Alison Duquesne (Eva Renzi), his helicopter is stolen by reckless explorer Sammy... [More]

Love it!

Some Polaroids from yesterdays Gauthier story - Ryan playing the hustler quite well I reckon considering as well as modelling he's one of the finest boxing talents in Europe.

Really love MGMT at the moment, which is a useless fact I admit.

I found this little handmade shoe shop in Marylebone the other day, quite special painting on the soles of your shoes...

This is Vladas, who built my new infinity cove in the studio. He's a treat, and despite speaking only 3 words of english did a fantastic job and made a flawless build. Vladas we salute you young man.

Fashion dog I met backstage in Paris.

I'm shooting a fantstic story on Monday, Jean Paul Gaulthier has opened up his archives in Paris for the first time for an editorial so we can shoot a story based on pieces from the now defunct Junior Gaulthier collection. Will post images up on here soon.

And theres no real reason for this one other than it's a funny descent into madness, and I don't like cats.

Just got new business cards and correspondence stock today from the printers, so I couldn't resist putting this scene up.

Also - somebody built this little effigy of some kind of demonic busker and left it directly outside my studio the other day, how fucking scary is that. I think somebody is trying to tell me something.

Had a big thing for shooting empty car parks recently. Not sure if its just because I've been driving all over London picking stuff up for shoots or the studio recently, or if its a hark back to skateboarding days, but I like it.

My favourite video of the last few years, which was of course instantly banned. Just really incredible piece of work which reminds me a lot of the Mathieu Kassovitz film, La Haine.

My favorite ever series of Bjork pictures, by the legendary Jean Paul Goude - the image was printed then dissected with a scalpel and rebuilt, which is just a fantastic old school process and idea.

As a big fan of Supreme anyway, I'm really taken with the kermit series, and have spent ages tracking down one of the decks. Still can't figure out what Terry Richardson has to do with it though...

These images are froma shoot I did a while ago for Amelias magazine in London, I just liked the images so I've put them up here.

This is the lovely Michel Gondry Cribs spoof, which I really do quite enjoy.

I love the idea of making a daft punk helmet.

I always had a big thing for Vision decks when I was skating a lot, I used to collect them a lot, but could never skate on the fishtail decks as they were shaped a bit odd. Anyway I just popped out to get a sandwich and saw some raw old school punk guy roll past on an old Gator deck, which I just really enjoyed.

Sean Rowley of Guilty Pleasures, shot on the roof of my studio.

Some pages from my sketchbook.

A cold and stormy day in Whitby, fantastic little creepy place. Tried to find Count Dracula's grave which is apparently in the abbey, but I reckon thats bollocks.

Dont go and see cloverfield if you suffer from motion sickness...

because you will be sick.

Here is Daft Punk live in France, easily the best thing I saw last year.

It is with a very heavy heart that I read the recent news that polaroid have stopped making instant film. Apparently there is enough stock left to last until 2009, which being less than a year away is rather worrying isn't it? I think it's crazy that photography is now being forced into being digital, with companies like Kodak and Polaroid not realising that many fashion photographers still prefer not to use digital, because it's still a bit shit in comparison to film. I hope somebody buys it out and keeps producing it, otherwise everyones work will end up looking exactly the same by about 2010...

Young Chris in Paris for the Lanvin show.

One of my favorite pictures taken in Isafjordur in Iceland.

Saturday, 16 February 2008

I want to start posting my scrapbooks from stories on here...

I really do like Alber Elbaz's bow ties, I wish that was a look I could pull off without looking very silly. I'm getting quite fascinated with bow ties at the moment, stopping people in the street and taking their pictures, not sure if it's coincidence but many of them seem to look like hitler. Maybe theres a project there somewhere.
I am very happy about the weather getting better so I can work outdoors more. London really is fucking depressing in the winter.

Londons burning.

Polaroid section added to my website.

Missing Iceland.

I've been missing Iceland a lot recently after watching the new Sigur Ros film Hvarf/Heim. I think I need to get out of the city for a bit.

Encore a Paris

My favourite shoot of this year so far, is this story I shot with Yoko Miyake in what is certainly one of my favourite French studios on the outskirts of Paris, Ivry Sur Seine. Heres a sample...

Paris Fashion Week.

Lots of fun running around the shows and Paris, shooting an interesting reportage project for Arena Magazine in London. The difference between fashion in Paris and London never ceases to amaze me, whereas London is more fun, Paris is always more serious.

The mens shows are always so much more fun than the womens, mainly because most of the models are jokers who use the oppourtunity of travel to go out and party as much as they can, which I always find funny. Backstage before shows always smells a bit like a P.E changing room, as many of the lads haven't yet been to bed. You don't really get too much of that with the womens shows, it's always a lot more serious.
